In 2023, Chiapas was the state with the largest area of palm oil cultivated in Mexico, with around 43.9 thousand hectares. Ranking second was Campeche, with 33.54 thousand hectares cultivated.That year, the total area of oil palm cultivated in Mexico reached over 111 thousand hectares and production reached over a million metric tons.
