Above Ground Herbaceous Biomass (gC/sq.m)

Above Ground Herbaceous Biomass (AGBherb) is predominantly grasses, but also forbs, restios, sedges. It is based on published relationships between rainfall and yearly grass production, reduced proportionately to take into account competition by trees (TCF). AGBherbvaries greatly through the year – reaching a peak near the end of the growing and declining to near zero by the beginning of spring, especially in the presence of fire and/or herbivory.
