Improving Storm Surge Forecasts with Transformers

This project couples transformers with ADCIRC to render enhanced predictions of storm surge in the United States. Here, we provide a pre-processing file necessary to create time-contiguous "chunks" for transformer training and evaluation. This comes from an ADCIRC Global-STOFS hindcast for 2016-2019. We also provide output from our trained transformers so that users can evaluate performance for themselves. All "observed" total water levels sourced from NOAA. All levels with respect to mean sea level vertical datum.
