On 16 June, several fires started in Sicily Region involving large areas of regional forested territory, towns and villages. The wild fires were fanned by temperatures of up to 40°C and strong southern wind as the “scirocco”. Schools and homes were temporary evacuated and damages to infrastructures and private and public structures have been reported.<br>
