In this study, we tried to establish a scheme for the common biosynthetic pathway of the triterpenes. With the transcriptomic data, we could predict the diversity of the triterpenoid products of W. cocos. Some growth-dependent enzymes could be elucidated and provide a basis for optimizing the cultivation of W. cocos. With the development of synthetic biology, this information could promote the application of the triterpene biosynthetic pathway to produce active triterpenoids, and might be helpful for molecular breeding of W. cocos.
