The Kara-Batkak Glacier weather station is situated in the Western Tianshan Mountains, Kyrgyzstan, with geographic coordinates of 42°9'46″N, 78°16'21″E and an altitude of 3280 m. The observed dataset covers hourly meteorological elements: air temperature (℃), maximum air temperature (℃) and its occurrence time, minimum air temperature (℃) and its occurrence time, 0.1 mm hourly rainfall (mm), 0.5 mm hourly rainfall (mm), instantaneous wind direction (°), instantaneous wind speed (m/s), 2-minute averaged wind direction (°), 2-minute averaged wind speed (m/s), 10-minute averaged wind direction (°), 10-minute averaged wind speed (m/s), wind direction and speed during the maximum wind speed event and their occurrence time, wind direction and speed during the extreme gust event and their occurrence time, wind direction and extreme instantaneous wind speed within one minute (° and m/s), relative humidity (%), minimum relative humidity (%) and its occurrence time, water vapor pressure (hPa), dew point temperature (℃), atmospheric pressure (hPa), sea level atmospheric pressure (hPa), maximum atmospheric pressure (hPa) and its occurrence time, minimum atmospheric pressure (hPa) and its occurrence time. These meteorological observation variables, after accumulation and statistical processing, are developed into climate datasets, providing important data support for planning, design and research activities in sectors such as agriculture, forestry, industry, transportation, military affairs, hydrology, medical and health care, and environmental protection.
