A total of 28 streams were surveyed over the course of four timepoints (May 2018, July 2018, May 2019, and July 2019). The goal of this project was to identify bacteria associated with Salmonella presence in the Susquehanna River Basin. Salmonella is an important foodborne pathogen in the United States, and outbreaks have been linked to local produce. Therefore, identifying it in streams that may be used for irrigation or recreation and bacteria associated with it would help inform management to prevent outbreaks.
