The aim of this project is to establish a pipeline for the discovery of speciation genes in non-model species. Three different Petunia species and their F1 hybrids have had their styles phenotyped and RNA from different stages of style growth sequenced in order to find dependencies between growth stages, gene expression and phenotype changes. Based on this data, candidate speciation genes were found.
