Genetic support and environment of poxtA conferring resistance to linezolid among Enterococci

Acquired resistance to linezolid (LZD) is rising among enterococci due to the spread of resistance genes (cfr, optrA and poxtA) carried by genetic mobile elements that are transferable between gram-positive bacteria. In this study, we aimed to characterize the genetic support and environment of poxtA(+) isolates of Enterococcus faecium and Enterococcus faecalis from clinical origin in France between 2016-20.
