Fosfomycin low susceptibility monogenic mutants of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia D457. Each mutant present a mutational inactivation by a SNP of a gene coding an enzyme belonging to the Embden-Meyerhof-Parnas central metabolism pathway. These mutants exhibit a novel mechanism of antibiotic resistance based on mutations of genes encoding metabolic enzymes.
