Water Column Phytoplankton Pigments of Lakes and Fiords Along the Northern Coastline of Ellesmere Island (Ward Hunt Island observatory)

Samples were taken to analyze the phototrophic communities down the water column of Lake A, Lake B, Lake C1, Lake C2, Ward Hunt Lake and Milne Fiord by the examination of photosynthetic pigments with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The data was used to assess changes in biomass and community composition vertically, between years and between lakes. We also aim to understand the phototrophic characteristics of these water columns.
