Fire stop data from What are the limits to the growth of boreal fires?

These files contain the data to reproduce the results presented in the paper What are the limits to the growth of boreal fires? by Thomas Janssen and Sander Veraverbeke published in Global Change Biology. The dataset is provided in two formats: a comma-separated values (CSV) file and a Geopackage file, both of which contain identical data. This data represents spatial "fire stop" locations, specifically 300-meter pixels surrounding fire scars in Northeast Siberia, derived from remote sensing data (2012–2022). The spatial point data is projected in EPSG:3576 – WGS 84 / North Pole LAEA Russia.

Each data entry includes the following columns:

"ID" - Unique object identifier; the first four digits is the year of burning"geometry" - Geometry of the spatial object (EPSG:3576)"burndate" - Burn date of the nearest burned pixel to the perimeter, expressed in days since 01-01-1970"firedirection" - Dominant fire spread direction (in degrees)"FireId" - Unique fire identifier "UIsland" - Indicates whether the fire stop is part of an unburned island (1) or the outer fire perimeter (0).     "firearea" - Burned area of the fire (km2)"ecoregion" - Ecoregion name from Olson et al. 2001 https://doi.org/10.1641/0006-3568(2001)051[0933:TEOTWA]2.0.CO;2"landcover" - Land cover class based on Bartalev et al.
