Tsunami records with the NASA/CNES SWOT space altimeter

This dataset contains 2D records of tsunami wavefields surveyed with the SWOT satellite deployed by NASA/CNES.
The aim of the dataset is to share post-processed data to the wider scientific community.
Three tsunamis are presented herein. It includes (1) the tsunami triggered by a magnitude Mw 7.7 earthquake having occurred on 19 May 2023 southeast of the Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia; (2) the tsunami triggered by a Mw 7.4 earthquake having occurred within Drake Passage, off the coast of Chile, on May 2 2025; and (3) the tsunami triggered by a Mw 8.8 earthquake having occurred in Kamchatka, Russia, on 29 July 2025. For each of these 3 tsunamis, there are 1, 1 and 5 SWOT swath records available, respectively. These events helped to assess the capability of SWOT to record tsunami waveforms, and more particularly, to learn how to filter the numerous non-tsunami waveforms from the raw signals.
