资源简介:
The dataset was collected to examine how information and social value orientations influence consumers’ willingness to pay (WTP) for gene-edited (GE) mushrooms with an extended shelf life. Using a choice-based experimental survey of 1,201 U.S. consumers, participants were randomly assigned to a control group (basic product information) or one of two treatment groups: (T1) received information on household food waste and the role of GE mushrooms in reducing it; and (T2) received additional information on the USDA’s non-regulatory policy toward GE mushrooms. The dataset includes individual-level data on WTP, demographic characteristics, attitudes toward GE foods, and social value orientations (pro-self or pro-social), allowing for analysis of how information and social preferences shape acceptance of emerging food technologies.
