These are copies of letters sent by the District Council, usually signed by the Warden, addressed to officers (mainly to the Colonial Secretary) and individuals. The period is from 8 August 1843 to 26 June 1847. Pasted into the front of the volume (on what were originally the index pages) are a series of letters and other documents.
