Geospatial and Morphological Datasets of the Sagrado Warscape (Isonzo Front, 1916)
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains the geospatial and morphological datasets generated for the spatial analysis of the Sagrado and Monte San Michele battlefield (Italian Front, First World War) during the year 1916. The data was produced by integrating high-resolution Digital Terrain Models (LiDAR-derived DTM) with digitized and georeferenced historical cartography (both Italian and Austro-Hungarian) within a GIS environment. The research methodology aligns with the principles of Conflict Archaeology and Spatial Humanities, aiming to quantify the logistical and tactical impact of the Karst morphology on trench warfare. The repository includes three main datasets (in CSV format): 1. Doline_.csv (Karst Depressions) Morphological and visibility statistics of the sinkholes identified in the study area. It includes geometric attributes, conservation status (Integrated, Erased, Unmapped, Natural), and topographic metrics (depth, surface roughness, slope). It also features viewshed analysis results, calculating the exposure of each depression to enemy infantry and artillery observers. 2. Aree_Faction_Statistics.csv (Territorial Statistics) Macro-scale topographic statistics calculated over the territorial polygons under Italian and Austro-Hungarian control in 1916. It highlights the fundamental geomorphological differences and logistical disadvantages faced by the two opposing armies through aggregate elevation and slope data. 3. Data_Linee_DTMS_.csv (Trench Lines and Walkways) Vector data of the historical defensive networks. Each segment is classified by type, faction, and current archaeological conservation status. The dataset includes spatial parameters such as linear development, average slope, and calculated exposure to direct enemy fire and zenithal artillery observation.
