Water pathogens have become increasingly more common throughout society. It is a growing problem with building water systems that of which have more potential to be pathogenic to our population. By studying the various number of species that have infiltrated our water systems we will better comprehend how to treat our most precious resource in our built systems. Legionella is a constant culprit when it comes to water management, and this is potentially the newest species to have been found in a potable water source. By further understanding this novel species it will benefit future studies on how to track, manage, and treat Legionella so that our water systems will remain safe.
