Raw data of burrow features recorded during a gradual warming experiment

This is the raw data of the daily burrow features recorded during the mesocosm experiments that studied the impact of gradual warming. The experiment involved a 10-day period of gradual warming (with a baseline temperature of 20 °C), which culminated in a maximum experimental temperature of 30 °C (with an increase of +2 °C every two days). Sediment containing local infauna was collected in buckets from the intertidal flats along the shore of Long Island Sound near Long Wharf Park in New Haven, Connecticut, USA (41°17'34.8" N, 72°55'01.2" W) on May 9, 2024. Key aspects of the bioturbation features composing this dataset include bioturbation area, horizontal versus vertical burrows, maximum burrow depth, branching, and mixed-layer depth. These burrow features are associated with common bioturbating fauna of Long Wharf, such as polychaetes and amphipods.
