The timing of establishing a microbial community has been unclear. This study seeks to determine the construction of calves' microbiomes per time point in beef cattle. Fresh rectal fecal samples were collected from 5 cows (mothers) in early lactation and 6 healthy calves (including a pair of twins) at different time points.
