Gastric Tissue Proteomics in H. pylori WT- and H. pylori GGT-knockout-Treated Mice

Gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT), an important virulence factor of Helicobacter pylori (Hp), is known to cause glutathione depletion in host cells. Here, this study finds that HpGGT promotes epithelial destruction and gastric mucosal lesion progression. GGT-deficient Hp strain was constructed. Mice infected with Hp WT strain or Hp ∆GGT strain were used to establish the Hp-infected chronic gastritis model. The gastric tissue were then obtained for TMT-labeled quantitative proteomics to evaluate the effects of HpGGT.
