Purpose: The transcriptional alterations underlying physological changes in fetal alcohol spectrum disorder are largely unidentified. Here we perform RNA sequencing on control and embryonic alcohol exposed (EAE/FAE) zebrafish at larval (13 dpf) and adult stages in order to identify significant transcriptional alterations under normal and HFHC diet conditions. Overall design: All fish were treated with 0% or 1% EtOH from 12 hpf - 5 dpf and removed from EtOH at 5 dpf. For larval experiments, 3 biological samples, each containing a group of pooled whole embryos, were included in the study. For adult experiments, 5 biological samples/individual livers were included per condition. Each sample represents an individual adult liver after 8 weeks of normal or HFHC diet challenge.
