Goal: Evaluate the effectiveness of the "PBL AI Traditional Teaching" integrated teaching model in clinical medical theory and practice teaching, and observe the satisfaction of the learning process from the perspective of students. method: We prospectively recruited 160 first-year clinical medicine students from Qilu Medical College from September 2018 to September 2023. These participants were randomly assigned to the "PBL AI Traditional Teaching" group and the traditional teaching group to participate in clinical medicine theory and practice teaching. Evaluate students' performance and self-awareness through quizzes and anonymous surveys. Result: In terms of total skill score and theoretical score, the "PBL AI Traditional Teaching" group was significantly better than the traditional group (P<0.001). The "PBL AI Traditional Teaching" group also showed higher scores in various aspects such as basic mastery, humanistic literacy, prevention knowledge, traditional Chinese medicine knowledge, and clinical mastery, especially in specific clinical fields such as internal medicine and surgery. In terms of learning motivation, comprehension ability, teacher-student interaction, communication ability, clinical thinking ability, self-directed learning ability, teamwork ability, and knowledge absorption ability, students in the "PBL AI Traditional Teaching" group scored significantly higher than those in the traditional group (P<0.001). Meanwhile, students in the "PBL AI Traditional Teaching" group spent significantly less free time on course assignments compared to the traditional group. Conclusion: PBL combined with CBL is an effective method for medical students and resident physicians to improve physical fitness and enhance clinical skills.
