资源简介:

This article traces the archaeological and structural trajectory of Tell el-Burak, a pivotal coastal settlement in southern Lebanon. Beginning with the history of the site’s discovery, we explore its most significant industrial features, notably the exceptionally preserved Iron Age winery that showcases the pioneering Phoenician innovation of hydraulic mortar. Moving beyond past archaeological assumptions, this paper presents a novel topographical and stratigraphic assessment of the mound. We challenge previous models of artificial terracing, demonstrating instead that the tell's elevation is the result of continuous anthropogenic aggradation—a self-rebuilding hill formed by millennia of uninterrupted human occupation devoid of basal stone foundations. Finally, the article abruptly shifts from deep time to the immediate present, addressing the site's current critical situation amid ongoing regional conflict. By detailing the "anatomy of collapse," we document the precise structural degradation threatening the tell today, contrasting the millennia it took to organically build this heritage with the rapid modern forces threatening to erase it.
