Gene database of Archaeoglobus fulgidus DSM 8774

<i>Archaeoglobus fulgidus</i> is a thermophilic archaeon found in hyperthermal environments such as hot springs and oil fields. With a small genome encoding fewer number of genes compared to the typical bacterial species, <i>A. fulgidus</i> offers many fascinating vistas for inquiry such as in functional genomics, metabolism, and cellular physiology. This work sought to provide the genetic repertoire of <i>A. fulgidus</i> DSM8774 by parsing the annotated genome sequence of the archaeon downloaded from Genbank. Comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence, the resource should find use in a variety of molecular phylogeny research seeking to understand the evolutionary origins of this species and the evolutionary context of its metabolic machinery.
