Digital Archive from a Metal Detecting Survey at Sourton Down, Okehampton, Devon, February 2023

This collection consists of images, geographic information system and site record data from a Metal Detecting Survey by MOLA Bristol at Sourton Down, Okehampton, Devon, in February 2023. The Metal Detecting Survey produced 59 metal artefacts, 1 non metallic find, and 1 possible Medieval coin. The majority of finds were post-medieval in date and represented by horseshoes and agricultural implements. No musket balls or pieces of lead associated with the Battle of Sourton Down were detected on site. There were no discernible patterns of archaeological activity identified within the data, however, there was a find cluster near the Roman road.
