This series consists of files that were produced by the North Region Office of the Board of Fire Commissioners from 1936-1990 and the North Region of the NSW Fire Brigades from 1990-2006. The files deal with both administrative and functional matters.The files in this series comprise a wide range of subjects including operational planning records that cover the various fire districts within the Northern Region, records and reports regarding major incidents that have occurred in the region, records pertaining workplace restructure, risk management and planning records, and correspondence and documents regarding awards and honours. Strategic planning documents, ministerial correspondence and committee minutes can also be found in this series.Each file is registered using the prefix NTH followed by a number. The files are arranged in numerical order.There is a 3.5 inch floppy disk dated 2003 that is the template for the monthly reporting system that Executive Officers on District Bushfire Management Committees were required to complete and send to the NSW Fire Brigades Bushfire/Natural Hazards Section. These reports were submitted on a monthly basis with information collated about hazard reducation work and permits issued within the region.
