Riverfly Monitoring Initiative RICT Model 44 Targets and Triggers

<p>The data are designed to support the <a target='_blank' href='https://www.riverflies.org/riverfly-monitoring-initiative-rmi' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'><strong>Riverfly Monitoring Initiative</strong></a> by defining:</p><ul><li><strong>Target Score:</strong> the expected RMI score for a monitoring site.</li><li><p><strong>Trigger Level:</strong> the score that indicates a potential change in ecological condition and signals the need for further investigation.</p><p>&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p>The dataset was produced by the <a target='_blank' href='https://castco.org/' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'><strong>Catchment System Thinking Cooperative (CaSTCo)</strong></a> using the <a target='_blank' href='https://www.fba.org.uk/rivpacs-and-rict/river-invertebrate-classification-tool' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'><strong>River Invertebrate Classification Tool</strong></a>, <a target='_blank' href='https://environment.data.gov.uk/dataset/8d1422b3-c960-4ed9-a324-40eefb0c016e' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'><strong>Defra Model 44 input variables</strong></a>, and the <a target='_blank' href='https://www.therrc.co.uk/open-rivers-network-orn' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'><strong>Open River Network</strong></a>.</p><p>These data are intended to guide and standardize the interpretation of riverfly monitoring results across England and Wales, supporting early detection of ecological change and promoting catchment-based management.</p><p><strong>Spatial resolution:</strong> 50 m along the river network.<br /><strong>Intended use:</strong> For setting site-specific riverfly target scores and trigger levels at monitoring locations.</p><p><span style='font-size:18px;'><strong>Guidance Document</strong></span></p><p><strong>The guidance document on how these data were made can be found </strong><a target='_blank' href='https://theriverstrust.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=2e2308d2c4b247feb88c4774e0f7ceca' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'><strong>here</strong></a><strong>.</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p>
