Near-surface temperature and salinity data for the Gradients 5 cruise (January 22 – Februrary 18, 2023) were acquired through the use of a thermosalinograph (THSL) system aboard the research vessel R/V Thompson. This cruise started off the coast of San Diego, California, dipped down below the equator, and ended in Honolulu, Hawaii. Data were acquired every minute. The time zone of the data is in UTC.
