A microtube (inner diameter = 1.75mm) was fabricated with SS304 to demonstrate the capacity of MT-STHXs to utilize supercritical CO2 as the working fluid. A series of thermohydraulic tests were performed on a microtube heat exchanger with supercritical CO2 as internal (tube-side) flow and air as external (shell-side) flow. Inlet and outlet conditions, including mass flow rate, temperature, and pressure, for both streams, were measured and reported in this dataset. The measured data can be used to calculate performance metrics for this heat exchanger and validate relevant correlations or model predictions for microtube heat exchangers.
