How National Infrastructure Moderates Stack Overflow's AI Displacement – Replication Package

Artificial intelligence tools have disrupted knowledge-sharing platforms, yet the structural conditions amplifying different periods of displacement remain unclear. Prior work documents that Stack Overflow contributions fell after ChatGPT's release, but not for whom, under what infrastructural conditions, across which AI release waves, or with what stylometric trace; these are the four gaps this study addresses. This study examines how AI adoption affects Stack Overflow questions, answers, and comments across 143 countries from June 2008 through September 2025.
