Saltpans Metagenome

Salt pans are the vast expanse of salts and various other minerals. In Gujarat, India, Bhavnagar has man made salt pan , in Gujarat state of India.The salt pans are with extreme conditions of salinity and tremendous fluctuating temperature which serves as a home for diverse halophiles. From the location mentioned , Sediment samples were collected. Sediments enriched in duplicates with media pertaining salinity 250 ppt to mimic the extreme salt conditions and temperature was provided by incubation. DNA was isolated and sequenced for the region V3-V4 after enrichment of the sample collected (flora).
