Stages of Family in the Making in Singapore from Antenatal to Postnatal Period

Singapore has experienced significant shifts in family structure in the past few decades due to urbanization and globalization. Singapore ouples and their families face great challenges in coping with the transition to parenthood. The present study aimed: (1) to delineate the trajectory of the functioning of new parents and families from pregnancy to the first year of parenthood, (2) to identify various psychosocial factors that may influence the adjustment of parents and families during the perinatal period, and (3) to determine the associations between parental/family functioning and infant development during the first postnatal year.
