资源简介:
Drug-loaded electrospun nanofibers have been considered as a potential drug carrier system that can optimize the disease treatment and minimize the possible impact on the gut microbiota. This study aimed to analyze the effects of streptomycin delivery on the bacterial community when delivered via electrospun delivery compared with conventional water dosing. We have evaluated the effects of nanofibers drug delivery in association with the oral administration of E. coli MG1655-K12 and the degree of colonization in the rat models gut compared with control groups. Firstly, we have tested whether the antimicrobial activity efficacy of streptomycin remains after the electrospinning procedure. Then we perform in vivo test to analyses the degree of probiotic colonization and the gut microbiome changes. Overall, we observed that streptomycin can be successfully encapsulated into nanofibers, and it can help the delivery of streptomycin to the gut, which can enhance the presence of E.coli in the colon.
