Root-associated fungi along a drained peatland gradient

To determine the drivers of ECM fungal community composition following long-term changes in substrate quality, we assessed seedling root-associated fungal communities along gradients within 100-year-old drained peatlands. We sampled Picea mariana seedlings from three drained peatland gradients in northern Minnesota, USA, and compared root-associated fungal communities to above- and belowground site variables.
