G332.5-5.6: An Unusual Supernova Remnant with Circumstellar Interaction

We propose to observe G332.55.6, a puzzling supernova remnant with high radiopolarization, central emission with bilaterally symmetric limbs, and evidencefor enhanced nitrogen suggesting interaction with circumstellar material. RecentSuzaku observations of the center show a thermal spectrum with apparent subsolarabundances. Higher angular resolution, coupled with spectroscopy, is required tofollow up this important object and allow the inference of basic SNR propertiessuch as age and shock speed, and to identify any ejecta emission. XMMNewtonwill image the central emission at ten times higher spatial resolution, andallow a search for morphological structure that can illuminate the spectralanalysis. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
