1 - When preceded by a verb, 过 indicates that an action took place in the past. It is often accompanied by 曾经. When we use 过, we focus on telling people an experience which used to exist in the past. This experience has usually ended for some time at the moment of speaking. What is the difference between 过 and 了? 了 indicates the completion of an action (for more explanation, please see the notes of 了 [par.] ) . For example: E.g. She got married. She was married./ She used to be married. In E.g.1, “she getting married” is an action that is completed. She has a husband now. In E.g. 2, “getting married”, this action happened to her in the past. In other words, she has experienced “getting married”, but we don't know if she is still married now or if she is still married to the same person. It is possible that she got divorced and is single now, or she got divorced, then married another person. 2 - What is the difference between 过了and 过?And between 过了 and 了?
She got married. She was married./ She used to be married.
