Mid-Atlantic Ridge Bathymodiolus raw RNAseq reads. Mid-Atlantic Ridge Bathymodiolus

This project provides raw sequence data from highthroughput transcriptome sequencing of individual Bathymodiolus vent mussels from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The primary goal of this study was to develop single nucleotide polymorphism and microsatellite markers for population genetic and connectivity analyses. Insights into population structure and gene flow in hydrothermal vent animals become increasingly relevant for environmental conservation strategies as threats through deep-sea mining are imminent.
