资源简介:
We primed tall goldenrod (Solidago altissima L.) by exposing plants to the volatile emission of the goldenrod gall fly (Eurosta solidaginis). This fly is an obligate parasite of S. altissima, and previous research has shown that S. altissima changes its chemical defense after detecting the volatile emission of nearby male E. solidaginis. We performed paired-end Illumina RNA seq on S. altissima plants that were primed by exposure to the E. solidaginis emission then damaged by Helicoverpa zea (corn earworm) larvae. This experiment allowed us to understand the transcriptomic changes that defensive priming entails, as well as the effect of damage that is mismatched with the source of a threat cue.Sample information:RNA seq libraries (fastq format) are numbered 1 to 25 by treatment.Treatment codes: NH (naive with herbivory), NN (naive with no herbivory), PH (primed with herbivory), PN (primed with no herbivory)Libraries 1-5 correspond to 0 hours post infestation.Libraries 11-15 correspond to 6 hours post infestation.Libraries 16-20 correspond to 24 hours post infestation.Libraries 21-25 correspond to 48 hours post infestation.
