HTR-8/SVneo human placental trophoblast cells were exposed to low-level environmentally relevant concentrations of iAs, Mn, and iAs-Mn mixtures. A microarray assay was performed to understand the changes and differences in gene expression in relation to single-metal and metal-mixtures Overall design: Placental trophoblasts were seeded and exposed to iAs (0.3µM, 1µM, 1.5µM), Mn (5µM, 10µM, 20µM), or an iAs-Mn mixture (0.3µM iAs+5µM Mn, 1µM iAs + 10µM Mn, 1.5µM iAs + 20µM Mn). Samples were developed in triplicate, and unexposed controlls were included as well. Cells were exposed for 24 hrs prior to RNA extraction.
