Marmosets population genetic study. Callithrix jacchus

The common marmoset has emerged as a nonhuman primate model in biomedical research, and high-quality reference genome assemblies were released three years ago. Epileptic marmosets have been independently reported in two Asian primate centers. Nevertheless, the population genetics at these primate centers and the genetic variants associated with epilepsy in marmosets have not been elucidated. Here, we characterize the genetic relationships and risk variants for epilepsy in 41 samples from two epileptic marmosets' pedigrees with whole-genome sequencing.
