China Aohan fine wool sheep gut microbe raw sequence reads

Aohan fine-wool sheep grown in semi-desert grasslands in China have excellent stress resistance. Whether its gut microbiome is similar in structure and composition to other breeds of sheep is unclear. We investigated dynamic distribution of the overall gut microbiome (duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum, colon and rectum) using 16Sr DNA gene amplification. The gut microbiota of Aohan fine-wool sheep is the key to adapt to the growth of semi-desert grassland environment. Our results revealed new insights into gut microbial stress resistance and gut health in sheep.
