This dataset include four knowledge clips featuring international experts on the history of Asia, slaveries, and the European impact overseas. This dataset is linked to Public Engagement Work Package 4 of the MSCA project "UNSILENCE: Trafficking of girls and Catholic missionary networks in the South China Sea (18th-19th centuries): a transnational approach". The creation of these videos serves to raise awareness about human trafficking, decolonisation in Asia and the importance of history in dealing with it.
The dataset include the following files: 1. "Commercial and social circulations RuizStovel": Brief video featuring Dr. Guillermo Ruiz-Stovel describing the political, economic, and social conditions in the South China Sea in the early modern period; 3. "Missionary presence Torres": Brief video featuring Dr. Marina Torres describing the missionary presence in Asia and their collection of abandoned children; and 4. "Philosophy, History and Human Rights Morales": Audio interview with philosopher Patricia Morales discussing the current situation regarding the movement of people in today's scenario and the importance of philosophy and history in fighting for human rights
