High resolution historical winds and historical air density at 100-meter height. Available globally back to 1980. This product is focused on wind direction, wind speed, wind gusts, and air density. The solution is robust and uses 1-km hourly model data in the CONUS and 3-km hourly model data globally. The high-resolution model data is dynamically downscaled to the desired resolution based on high resolution terrain elevation, slope, and aspect. NASA algorithms used within a GIS environment will provide the historical data for wind turbines. Forecasts of hourly wind / air density can be provided if needed using the same approach as for historical winds.
