资源简介:
The Gondwana World Heritage area forms part of the Great Eastern Ranges and borders the SEQ region to the south and south-west. Through onground action to improve weed, fire and stock management on private land buffering the WHA, the resilience and connectivity of the GER will be strengthened. This subproject also builds on past initiatives to improve the condition and extent of three endangered ecological communities: Yellow Box woodland is thought to occur within eucalypt communities abutting the WHA, Brigalow open forest (sometimes with semi-evergreen vine thicket) remnants can be found in the low ranges near to the WHA, and in lowland areas Swamp Tea-tree Forest fragments occur in restricted areas. Key actions include the control of WONS – asparagus vine, Madeira vine, cats’ claw creeper and lantana – in and around EECs to assist with building linkages with other native vegetation communities. Most activity will take place on private, however partnerships will be sought with community groups and public land managers, to value-add to activities.
