Connecting coastal vegetation volunteers from Leggy Point to Burwood Beach

This project links 9ha of 3 coastal vegetation communities and 3 community group’s long term coastcare contributions between Leggy Point and Burwood Beach in the Glenrock SCA. It will control of 3 Weeds of National Significance (Bitou Bush,Blackberry,Lantana) and Coastal Morning Glory, strengthening containment lines around the SEPP 26 littoral rainforest, coastal heath and fore dune. Site resilience will be enhanced by local seed collection to propagate 5000 plants. A pilot program to foster plants for the project will be undertaken. The capacity of volunteers will be enhanced by supporting rotating team leadership and training with professional bush regenerators. Project activities will be recorded and promoted utilizing social media.
