Zollino tra grico e romanzo attraverso il Vocabolario dei Dialetti Salentini di Gerhard Rohlfs

Thanks to Gerhard Rohlfs'studies, the Vocabolario dei Dialetti Salentini remains, even sixty years after its publication, a unsurpassed point of reference in the history of Apulian lexicography. In this regard, the present contribution will focus on a compendium of items recordered in Zollino (Lecce). The main aim of the research is not only a content analysis attesting of the language in the past of this small village, but representing the common linguistic situation of Salento, especially of Grecìa Salentina, based on a deeply coexistence and fusion of two varieties that were spoken in the area: salentino dialect and grico.
