Molecular characterization on Ongole Crossbreeds of Cattle in IndonesiaPuji Lestari, Aryogi, Dicky Pamungkas, Yudi Adinata, Yenny Nur Anggraeny, Rerenstradika Tizar Terryana, Kristianto Nugroho, Mastur Indonesia put high efforts to produce superior beef cattle to meet high demand in the country. For that purpose, selection of high numbers of pure Ongole Crossbreeds with their unique morphological traits along with high growth rate has been conducted for many years by assigned research institution or research center under Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD). These Ongole Crossbreeds were well adapted in the local environment of Java Province. To complement phenotypic characterization, sequencing-based approach has been performed on the specific locus in the Bovine genome.
