FWS National Wilderness Boundaries

This data layer depicts the Designated Wilderness and Proposed Wilderness placed upon the lands and waters administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in North America, U.S. Trust Territories and Possessions. Only the U.S. Congress can designate Wilderness. The Service establishes Proposed Wilderness administratively. The primary source for this information is the USFWS Wilderness program.
