Genome Sequence of P. plakortidis: A Resource for Biotechnological Innovations

This submission presents the complete genome sequence of P. plakortidis, a marine sponge-associated bacterium isolated from garden soil. The strain was sequenced using Illumina NovaSeq 6000, and the resulting reads were assembled into 18 contigs with a total genome size of 3.29 Mb and an N50 of 915220. The genome was annotated using Prokka to identify protein-coding genes and functional elements. This genome sequence provides valuable insights into the genetic basis of P. plakortidis's unique ecological adaptations and its potential biotechnological applications, including antimicrobial, anticancer, and bioremediation properties.
