资源简介:
This dataset includes three-year research data on the evaluation of sorghum for fodder quality under terminal drought in vertisols(black soil). The trial was conducted for three years - 2012, 2013 and 2015 in post rainy season in vertisols. The experiment was laid out in an alpha lattice design with 3 replications each under control (irrigated) and stress (irrigation withheld). For drought induction in the stress plots, irrigation was withheld before initiation of booting, at 50 Days After Sowing (DAS) and continued further until maturity, whereas in control plots irrigation was provided whenever required. Further to avoid water seepage from control to stress plots, buffer rows (8) of bulk sorghum were sown between two treatment plots. Following Agronomic traits were recorded: Days to fifty percent flowering, Plant height, Grain yield, Stalk yield (fresh and dry) and test weight. Post recording of agronomic traits the biomass was dried, chopped, and ground to allow the powdered fodder to pass through 1mm sieve. Following fodder quality traits were recorded: Nitrogen, NDF (neutral detergent fibre), ADF (acid detergent fibre) and in vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD-%) were estimated by Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) calibrated against conventional wet laboratory analyses.
